When relocating to the Lehigh Valley there is a lot to think about. One small thing you don’t want to forget to do is to change your address because if you do forget this will have a big impact! Make sure you fill out a US Post Office change of address form to start. Here are some other things to think about!

• You can either head to the local post office to complete the US Postal Services change of address form or you can do it from your computer! Here you can make your change your address to the Lehigh Valley PA online! 
• Make sure to put all household members moving on the form. For example if you forget to put your kids names or your spouse then their mail may not follow! Making the change of address will ensure you mail gets forwarded for a limited time – one year for letters and newspapers/magazines are forwarded for a period of 60 days. After that it gets lost at the post office or stays at your old address.
• Don’t forget to send a change of address notification to all of your contacts/family/friends as well. You can find these at the post office for free or at your local hallmark store. I know when we did our last move we sent everyone a computer generated card with our new info.
• You can either contact your credit card companies, loans, and other places you do business with via phone to change your address or typically you can make a change on the back of the slip you submit monthly.  You should do this ahead of time to avoid late fees due to mail transitioning.

If you take the time to get this all done in advance you will have a much smoother transition.
